130: religion
134: LMSD Net: student use, rights and responsibilities
137: district use laptops
Policies up for a first read
830: Environmental Impact Reduction Plan
[start of meeting - I was not there; according to another member of the audience]
The committee discussed the upcoming homework policy discussion - I will get details and post them here as soon as I can
There was no discussion on the policies up for a second read {which is strange as I emailed in several questions and a couple of corrections to inconsistencies in the policies}
[I arrived]
Environmental impact policiy is comprehensive - much more than most school districts have
Diane D: concerned that we put education first and foremost; example: to save energy we keep the hallways cooler in the winter than the classrooms; LMSD wants teachers to keep their doors closed; this does not encourage teacher/student casual interaction
Pat G: in some schools this is also a fire code issue
Susan G: what are we doing about reducing the amount of food waste
Mike K: they will get SHAC to report
Melissa G: that transportation section seems very focuses - what about reducing the amount of busing?
Pat G: are we suggesting increasing the walk zones? that would be a significant decision
{general rumblings about taking on that project - they project many parent complaints}
[I had to leave]
