School board business meeting
Monday, September 20, 2010

School Directors present: Susan Guthrie, Gary Friedlander, Lisa Pliskin, Diane DiBonnaventuro, David Ebby (Board President), Jerry Novick, Melissa Gilbert
Audience: About 10 people.

This meeting consisted of:
  • A technology agreement report from George Frazier
  • Passage of Administrative items
School Director Linda Ashman is not present, and as per later announcements, seems to have resigned.

1. Technology agreement update from George Frazier

[sorry to say I missed most of this presentation]

Dr McGinley (CM): The vast majority of people have returned their forms [unclear on whether he means high school families RE their laptops, or all ages district-wide]. Some have taken the option to use the laptop only in school. None has elected to forgo a laptop altogether.

2. Administrative recommendations

Nine students are determined not to be residents of the school district, and are removed from the rolls.

High School construction increase in expenditures: Harriton High School construction increases come to about +3% so far, which is considered to be a good number. Lower Merion HS has similar outlook.

No public want to make comment on anything tonight.
